What is S.T.E.A.M.?
S.T.E.A.M. stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics. It’s an educational approach that integrates all five disciplines into hands-on projects that develop problem-solving skills, critical thinking, scientific inquiry, creativity, and design thinking. By combining these elements, students engage in dynamic learning experiences that prepare them for the future.
What is the S.T.E.A.M. Expo?
Bellwood School District 88’s S.T.E.A.M. Expo is an exciting event that showcases the innovation and creativity happening in our classrooms all year long. It’s also a chance to partner with local businesses and organizations to provide students and families with an unforgettable evening filled with hands-on learning and fun!

Theme: Kids in the Kitchen – Recipe for Success
This year’s theme, “Kids in the Kitchen,” continues our district-wide focus on a Recipe for Success. All S.T.E.A.M. projects will be centered on the five core S.T.E.A.M. elements, but with a creative problem-solving challenge related to food, recipes, or kitchen science. Each grade-level team will design a project aligned with their curriculum and include a take-home activity, recipe, or hands-on experience so families can continue the fun and learning at home!

🍎 Snacks & Treats – Enjoy refreshments throughout the evening.
🎭 Face Painting & Photo Booths – Capture fun memories with interactive booths.
🎟️ Raffle Prizes – Earn tickets for wearing your S.T.E.A.M. Expo shirt and participating in activities!
